Trapping of neutral molecules by the beam electromagnetic field

Neutral uncharged molecules are affected by the electromagnetic field of a charged particle beam if they carry either an electric or magnetic dipole moment. The residual gas in accelerator pipe consists such molecules. In this paper we study their dynamics. Under few approximations, whose validity explore and justify, derive equations motion neutral invariants, determine conditions for these to become trapped beams as function beam-pipe temperature, compute resulting enhancement molecule density vicinity beam.
